Voice of a LEARN South Chicago Grandparent

As a grandparent of a LEARN South Chicago charter school student, I can tell you firsthand about the difference the school has made in her life.
She came in from a school where she was bored and where she was not progressing, and I knew she needed to be challenged.
That is exactly what LEARN South Chicago has done. They challenge her, but they also support her so that she can succeed and grow.
Although she is only in kindergarten, I know LEARN South Chicago is the place for her. I spend time volunteering at the school, and what I witness is a complete commitment to the future of our children. They educate the whole child and the time spent in the classroom goes far beyond a typical curriculum.
LEARN South Chicago has my support because, I know it is giving my granddaughter everything she needs to grow into a successful and bright adult.
I think CPS made the right decision by voting to open another LEARN school. I feel fortunate that LEARN South Chicago has been an option for me and my granddaughter, but I know there are many parents out there who don't have that option. Hopefully a new LEARN school will give their children the chance mine has had.
