LAKE COUNTY, IL — LEARN Charter School Network, a network of 10 tuition-free public schools in the Chicagoland area, is excited to announce it is receiving support from Discover Financial Services. Discover’s support will consist of volunteer assistance, financial contributions and supply donations that will enhance the educational experience for our three schools in Lake County: LEARN 6 and 10 in North Chicago and LEARN 9 in Waukegan. 

To kick off this relationship, Discover donated backpacks stuffed with school supplies to each child in our newest school, LEARN 10 in North Chicago which opened on August 8th, 2016, ensuring that our scholars started the school year with everything they needed.

“We are very grateful for Discover’s thoughtful donation. Our scholars were absolutely delighted to receive their backpacks and the fun supplies inside. They weren’t expecting such a wonderful gift during their first week of school, so it made them even happier to start the year,” said LEARN 6 and 10 Principal, Kelly Tyson.

Through Discover’s generous commitment to financial support, LEARN will be able to improve classroom access to technology with new overhead projectors, chromebooks, and iPads; increase enrichment experiences through field trips and musical instruments; and strengthen classroom learning with items such as microscopes and garden beds.
