Dear LEARN Friends and Supporters,

Please join our LEARN family in celebrating a new season of connection and healing. It is with immense joy and gratitude that I announce the reopening of all ten LEARN campuses. More than 56% of our scholars elected LEARN’s in-person learning option. We are so thankful for the herculean efforts of the LEARN team who worked tirelessly to coordinate a safe return. Our teachers and staff continue to demonstrate our Core Value of creating a Safe & Nurturing Environment, ensuring all children are healthy and safe in their schools. I am so grateful.

LEARN Named #1 School in ‘Beating the Odds’ Report

The Illinois Network of Charter School released a report about the Chicago Public Schools that are “beating the odds” and providing our city’s most underserved students with game-changing educational opportunities. Out of 644 CPS schools, 159 serve a high-needs population. LEARN Charles and Dorothy Campbell Campus is proud to be ranked #1 on the list. You can read the report here. We are proud to be part of such a strong, committed community of public schools.

Celebrations in our Schools

LEARN is undoubtedly excited for the return to in-person learning. We know our families need this option.  A few LEARN school highlights from the third quarter:

LEARN Assigned BBB S&P Global Rating

LEARN Charter School Network has been given a BBB investment grade rating by Standard & Poors. This is a very strong rating for a non-profit and reflects LEARN’s financial stability. It enables LEARN to issue investment grade bonds providing a source of relatively low cost debt that can help fund our operations and capital needs.

Celebrating Galina, 8th Grade Scholar from LEARN 9 Waukegan

Please join me in celebrating the success of 8th grade scholar Galina from the first graduating class at LEARN 9 Waukegan for becoming a published author. Galina submitted a chapter for the book Ideas to Amplify Student Voice. The Waukegan Public Library reached out to Galina to get her autograph on the newly released book! We are so proud of her accomplishment during this tough year.

Galina will be attending Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart for high school in the fall and hopes to be a history teacher in the future. Mrs. Andersen, LEARN 9 Social Studies teacher, has become her inspiration.

LEARN continues to find inspiration and joy as we work together as a community to persevere through incredibly challenging circumstances. Thank you for your partnership and belief in our mission. We are so happy to be back with our students and families again.

Warm Regards,

Greg White, President & CEO
